Ripley:  2 year old Cane Corso
ADOPTED

Adopted Through Helping Hearts and Healing Tails Animal Rescue (https://www.helpingheartshealingtails.org/)

Ripley.jpg

Ripley is a 2 year old Cane Corso that was surrendered to the rescue after his owner went to hospice.  After his owner was sick for at least a year, Ripley unfortunately needed some general TLC and love to boost his spirits.  He needed to lose quite a bit of weight and gain some much needed muscle, which he has been doing wonderfully.  Ripley came to me for some socialization, but now we have also started to add in some basic obedience as well.  His only real issue is that he does not want his nails trimmed, but we are slowly making progress with touching his feet.

Ripley is dog social and seems to love to play with other dogs.  He also appears to be friendly with cats.  He is people social and will walk up to strangers without any issues, but he still isn't quite sure about people petting him.  He is just a bit shy, he has never displayed aggression in any way the entire time I have had him.  He is a very well mannered and stable dog and would make a wonderful companion for just about any home.  Once he warms up to you, he is quite the character and he always makes us laugh here.  Ripley would love a fenced in yard, if possible, and does not need an active home.  However, he would love to do some active things with his new human since he does enjoy some activity.  I adore this guy and I would keep him if we could.

Ranger:  1 year old shepherd mix
ADOPTED

Adopted Through Team Memphis Rescue and Support (https://teammemphis.org/)

Ranger.jpg

Ranger is a 1 year old shepherd mix that was surrendered with the rest of his litter to a Memphis area shelter.  The rescue pulled the entire litter to try to place them all in homes, only 3 of the boys are still available out of 7!  Ranger came to me to get acclimated to a home setting and to work on some basic obedience skills and socialization.

Ranger appears to be dog selective and may not always get along with another dog.  He would do best in as the only dog in the household or with a slow and proper introduction to another dog.  A meet and greet would be required to make sure any other dogs in the household would be compatible with Ranger before adoption.  Ranger appears to be okay with cats, but this has not been tested thoroughly yet.  Ranger may take some time to fully warm up to his new owners and to let his personality shine; he just doesn't quite understand the benefits of human affection after spending so much time in a kennel environment.  Ranger is a very sweet dog and once he warms up to you his more energetic and goofy side will start to come through.  He is probably the most serious dog of the 3 brothers, but he is still a happy goof ball of a dog.  Ranger would do best in an active home where his owners are willing to continue on with some training to help expose him to the world in a positive way.
