Private Lesson Style Classes

CLASSES NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL SPRING

All of my classes are billed weekly, but are scheduled as 6 week classes.  They are all conducted as a private lesson style of appointment, but other dogs may be added if it would benefit your dog.  Every 6 week class includes a slip leash and a snap leash for you to use during their training sessions.  Additional tools are not included in the class price and you will need to bring your own treats.

  • Positive play and playing with appropriate things

  • Impulse control and learning to be calm when excited

  • Introduction to life saving obedience skills (recalls, leave it, crate training, and loose lease walking);

  • Exposure to new environments, surfaces, and things;

  • Body awareness skills;

Some Topics We Cover:

  • Standard obedience skills such as sit, down, loose leash walking, and neutral greetings;

  • Introduction to stay commands;

  • Recalls with distractions;

  • Using play to enhance your training and to improve your relationship with your dog;

  • Place commands (if desired) and/or the tether method;

  • Introduction to tools (if appropriate) and leash pressure;

  • Muzzle training and vet care conditioning

Other topics can be covered by request or if you have something specific that you need help with.  This is just a general list.

Advanced Obedience

Blitz Walk.jpg

$600 (6 weeks long)

Designed for dogs that already have a solid foundation in basic obedience and life skills.

This class is designed to build on what is covered in the puppy and basic obedience classes.  This will teach your dog to hone their skills that they have already learned by increasing the difficulty level for each of the obedience exercises.  Ecollar training is also available at this level once dogs have an understanding of what is expected of them and an ecollar is highly encouraged.

Some Topics We Cover:

  • Learning to use tools (ecollar, prong collar, slip lines);

  • Formal heeling, informal heeling, and loose leash walking;

  • Position changes (sit, down, stand);

  • Recalls and stays with distractions;

  • Continuation of positive play, leash pressure, and place/tether training;

  • Navigating through neighborhoods and urban settings;

  • Training for coffee shops, breweries, and other dog-friendly places (for friendly dogs only)

Other topics can be covered by request or if you have something specific that you need help with.  This is just a general list.  Ecollar training is highly recommended at this level.  We can address any concerns you may have about this tool, but it is a wonderful way to communicate with your dog from a distance or when a leash may not be a practical communication tool for your dog.

What to bring to Class:  I will send you an email outlining what we will be doing for each training session and what you will need to bring.  All dogs must come with a flat collar, 6 foot leash, lots of treats, and a favorite toy to play with.  Please use the tools that I have provided to you for training as they are my preferred brands.  Absolutely no retractable leashes or harnesses will be accepted.

Reactive Dog Training

Loki van 1.jpg

$810 (6 Weeks)

Designed for dogs that want to learn intermediate or Advanced level obedience, but need some extra help navigating around other dogs or people

This class is designed to teach you how to help your dog navigate the world when they have reactivity issues.  We will work together to teach them the obedience skills they need, while also working towards maintaining their reactivity towards other dogs or people.  Human reactivity is also accepted as long as the dog can work with me safely.  If they have a bite history or they may bite me, I will refer you to another trainer that specializes in this area.

Some Topics We Will Cover:

  • Standard obedience skills such as sit, down, loose leash walking, and neutral greetings (within their threshold);

  • Introduction to stay commands;

  • Recalls with distractions;

  • Using play to enhance your training and to improve your relationship with your dog;

  • Place commands (if desired) and/or the tether method;

  • Introduction to tools (if appropriate) and leash pressure;

  • Muzzle training and vet care conditioning

  • Acting appropriately around triggers (dogs, people, etc.) and increasing tolerance thresholds

Reactive dogs require life long management and there is no sure fix for this issue.  We will also discuss proper management skills.

All tools must be approved or purchased by me.  Please do not order your own items before enrolling in the class.  If you would like to use an ecollar or prong collar in this class, please let me know ahead of time so I can place an order before your class starts.

Sport Dog Training

Hadley Scent Work 1.jpg

$125 per session (Individual Sessions)

Designed for dogs that already have a solid foundation in obedience that is beyond the basics.

This class is designed to build on upper level obedience skills with a particular goal in mind.  Each session we will work on something that you want to learn more about or that you may be struggling with.  This is designed to be an introductory level to the sport or to practice your skills if we have a mutual trainer/training method.  Ecollars are often used at this level of training and they are highly encouraged.  You must be approved to attend these sessions.

Some Sports I Can Offer:

  • Mondioring Obedience; â€‹

  • Introduction to AKC Rally;

  • Introduction to scent work;

  • Introduction to weight pull

If you are interested in dock diving, mondioring or IGP protection training, flyball, or AKC obedience I can refer you to someone for training.  I do not have the ability/equipment to teach these things at this time, but I do actively participate in these sports.  I can, however, help you work on things that you already know for practice or for problem solving.

Introduction to weight pull is only available if your dog fits into one of my weight pull harnesses.  If you would like practice on the actual weight pull track/equipment, or if my harness does not fit your dog, I can refer you to someone for training.

What to bring to Your Session:  I will send you an email outlining what we will be doing for each training session and what you will need to bring.  All dogs must come with a flat collar, 6 foot leash, lots of treats, and a favorite toy to play with.  Absolutely no retractable leashes or harnesses will be accepted.  Clients that sign up for at least 6 sessions will be eligible for the free items (slip leash, snap leash, and a bag of treats).

All tools must be approved or purchased by me.  Please do not order your own items before enrolling in the class.  If you would like to use an ecollar or prong collar, please let me know ahead of time so I can place an order before your session starts.

Individual Private Lessons

Fu walk.jpg

In-Person:  $125 per session

Reactive Dog Training:  $150 per session

Virtual Training:  $100 per session

Designed for owners that may not need an entire set of class sessions or would like to train as they go.

Individual Lessons are designed for me to evaluate your dog and give you homework to try to reach your goals.  We can focus on a variety of topics including sport dog training, obedience, specific issues, reactivity, or whatever you may need.  We can truly tailor a program to what your dog needs or this is to add on additional lessons after you complete a board and train or a class as needed.  â€‹â€‹

E-Collar Training still requires a core foundation in obedience and basic understand from your dog prior to using the tool.  It is recommended to do several weeks of training before an ecollar will be introduced, I will not rush your dog.  Prong Collars are also an option if appropriate for individual lessons.
